Mrs. Herman Vogt, 91, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at
the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Schramm, of Alverno. Mrs. Vogt had been in failing health.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. John Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, the Rev. A. T. Degner officiating.
Mrs. Vogt, nee Caroline Hacker, was born May 21, 1874, in the Town of Liberty, daughter of the late Fred and Wilhelmina Maas Hacker. She was married to Herman Vogt, Dec. 12, 1895 in Liberty and the couple farmed in Newton until 1945. The couple noted its 70th wedding anniversary last month.
Mrs. Vogt was a member of the St. John church congregation and its
Ladies Aid Society.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Roland, on the family
farm; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Mabel) Born, of Rt. 3, Manitowoc,
and Mrs. Karl (Laurine) Schramm, of Alverno; a brother, Ernest Hacker, of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Linda Born, a son, Edmund, three infant children, and a brother, Martin, preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until noon Friday where the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.
