Mrs. Jacob Poff, for sixty five years a resident of Argyle and vicinity, died at the home of her son, L.H. Poff, in this village, on Monday the 15th, after a brief illness, at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Her maiden name was Julia Ann Laughbaugh, and she was born in Pennsylvania, Nov. 11, 1830, and with her parents moved to Ohio where she was married to Jacob Poff June 2, 1850 and in 1854 they came to Wisconsin.
Eight children were born to them, four of whom survive her. They are Henry, of this place, Mrs. P.F. Flannery of Jordan, Mrs. H. Partridge, of the town of Argyle, and Mrs. P. Partridge of Darlington. Emma, George, Martha and Mary preceded her and her husband died in 1892. There are 38 grandchildren, 119 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. L.W. Nixon officiating.
