Alberta Watson McDonald, 88, of Sanford, NC passed away Saturday February 25th, 2017 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on November 8th, 1928 in Scotland County, NC to Edward and Fannie Watson. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lee McDonald; four children, Ann Beck, Bobby McDonald, Johnny McDonald, and Sue Gardner; and eight sisters, Lessie, Katherine, Pauline, Sandra, Ethel, Evalina, and Eva Mae.
Alberta worked for 16 years at Coty Inc. in Sanford. She placed her family above all else and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin McDonald (Pam) of Sanford and James A. McDonald of Archdale; a daughter, Nyoka Tullock of Winston-Salem; a sister, Sadie Ruth Bass; a brother, Ed Watson Jr.; fourteen grandchildren, Tommy Grooms, Ronnie Grooms, Lonnie Grooms, Donnie Grooms, Connie Floyd, Stephanie Thompson, Tracy Steed, Angie Sink, Beth Jones, Travis Smith, Jeremy McDonald, Justin McDonald, Steven McDonald, and Joyce Marks; and twenty one great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM on Tuesday February 28th, 2017 at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1PM in the Miller-Boles Chapel with Pastor Bobby Rumbley officiating. Burial will follow the service in Lee Memory Gardens.
