John Coen's first wife, Ann Elizabeth Merritt died in 1855, and he then married Rebecca Barnhart about 1858. John and Rebecca adopted a little girl, Delora (Deloria) Franks (see the 1870 Wetzel Co., WV census), who later married William Harvey Barnhart (grandson of John Coen). Rebecca was John Coen's widow. Rebecca's first husband was Andrew C. Johnson, married 14 Sept. 1850, Washington Co., OH. One son, George W. Johnson, was born 1853 and died 1933. George's name is on the same tombstone with Rebecca and John Coen. George Johnson and wife, Catherine Colmar Johnson are on the 1880 Wetzel Co., WV census with John and Rebecca Coen (misspelled as CHOEN) along with John and Rebecca's adopted daughter, Delora (Franks) Coen.
