Ethel Emma Brown was born on December17, 1925, on the family farm north of Renville to Richard and Gertrude (Beekman) Aalderks. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Renville High School. Following graduation, Ethel worked for Pike General Store.
She was united in marriage to Robert D. Brown on September 23, 1945, on her parent's farm. Following their marriage, they lived in Minneapolis and Granite Falls prior to moving to Sacred Heart in 1952. They farmed together for 36 years. In 2000, she moved to the apartments in Sacred Heart and in June of 2006, she moved to Crossroads in Renville.
She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and was active in the Ladies Aide.
She loved her life on the farm. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Larry, Lois, Wilma and Glenda; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; her brother John Aalderks of Renville, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Dick and Arnold.
