"Services Set For County's Oldest Citizen.

LENA - Funeral service for Charles Grant Armagost of Lena, Stephenson County's oldest resident who died Wednesday following a brief illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Leamon Funeral Home here.

The Rev. John Romoser, pastor of Lena United Methodist Church, will officates. Burial will be in Lena Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Armagost was a farmer and carpenter before retiring.

He was born in West Point Township, Stephenson County, June 6, 1867, son of Samuel and Mary Jane (Stine) Armagost. On March 8, 1893, he was married to Laura Strunk in Waddams Grove. She died in 1964.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Leone Rote of Askov, Minn., Mrs. Kathryn Reynolds, Pearl City, Miss Dorothy Armagost, Lena, Mrs. Willard (Gladys) Stadermann, Eleroy, and Mrs. Clyde (Margaret) Scholz of Lena; two sons, Walter of Freeport and Earl of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William of Lake Nebagamon, Wis., and Roy of Freeport. In addition to his wife, Mr. Armagost was preceded in death by one son, seven brothers and five sisters."
