Dr. Robert Eugene Singiser, age 86, died peacefully on February 15, 2017 in Loveland, Colorado. He was a longtime resident of Gurnee, Illinois.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Glenda, of Loveland, Colorado and his son Robert Todd Singiser (Sandy) of Loveland and daughter Beth Suzanne Singiser of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He had three grandchildren, Alison Marie Singiser, Robert Craig Singiser and Hunter Matthew Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Caroline of Mechanicsburg, PA, his brother, Gerald and sister Isabelle Kilmore, both of Mechanicsburg, PA.

Bob was born on August 7th, 1930 in Mechanicsburg to parents Carroll and Caroline. He graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1952 and worked at Merck & Co. from 1952-1955. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's Degree in 1956 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1958. In 1958, he moved to Illinois and accepted a position as a research pharmacist at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago. He worked at Abbott for nearly 35 years finishing his career as Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Products Division. He was involved in the introduction of over 200 new products and held several patents, one of which was for the tablet coating process.

Bob was a family man and loving father. He married Glenda Ann Scott in 1954 and they had two amazing children, and three exceptional grandchildren. Of all of Bob's many accomplishments, he was most proud of being a Dad and Grandpa. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his black labs, Goliath I – IV. Both he and his wife enjoyed world travel, volunteer work and their church. They also enjoyed spending time at their vacation home on St. Simons Island in Georgia. Bob loved making the annual trek to the Indianapolis 500 for over 40 years and to the Daytona 500. He was an avid handyman, woodworker and owned MANY, MANY THINGS WHICH HE DID NOT THROW AWAY. He was also the family genealogist (2dbb), tracing the Singiser family history back to 1705.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL, followed by burial in Mechanicsburg, PA later this summer.
