Peonies, roses, iris and ferns banked the altar of the St. Peter Reformed church at Kiel when Miss Hildegard Gierke, daughter of Mrs. Mary Gierke, Kiel, route 1, pledged wedding vows with Lawrence Schweitzer, son of M/M Louis Schweitzer, Kiel, R 1 at 1:30 pm Saturday. The Rev. E.L. Worthman performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Erna Bratz attended the bride as maid of honor. Miss Ruth Krueger was bridesmaid. Walter Gierke, brother of the birde, attended as best man and Robert Schweitzer, brother of the groom was groomsman. Alfonse Schweitzer and Elmer Draheim were ushers. At the home of the bride’s mother, a wedding supper was served to 52 guests, after which a reception was held. The couple is planning a wedding trip in fall.
