Ira Victor Akens, a 65 year old native of Warren, died in Gallup, New Mexico on Saturday, November 17. Mr. Akens was a resident of Sawmill, Arizona and was a brother to several Warren people.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel Elizabeth Akens; four children, Loretta Faye, Ira Victor Jr., William Ronald, and Harold Craig Akens; two brothers, John Thaniel Akens of Warren, and William Edward Akens of Mountain View, California; six sisters, Mrs. Clementine Black of Warren, Mrs. Julia Wherry of Warren, Mrs. Anna Jennings and Mrs. J. W. Richey of Bellamy, Alabama, Mrs. G. G. Cash of El Centro California, and Mrs Ida Smith of Fresno, California.

Funeral services for Mr. Akens were conducted at Frazer's Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday by Rev. Gerald W. Trussell. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer Funeral Home.
