Wilma Rosetta Birdsong, 81, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, passed away March 9, 2017 at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehab. Center.
She was born on December 30, 1935 in Granite City, Illinois to the late Enda (Mixon) Wheeler and Oren Lindsey.
She and Ira Birdsong were married December 31, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1981. After her children were grown, Wilma worked as a Sous Chef at Lodge of the Four Seasons for many years. She had been very active in her church.
Survived by her sons, John (Cheryl) Birdsong and James (Kathy) Birdsong; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters; and a sister-in-law.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 brothers.
