English Artist. The son of an artist and lawyer, he was widely known for his landscapes and outdoor figure subjects. He was educated at the University College School in London, England and then received lessons on painting from John Rogers Herbert and engraving from John Pye. He decided to make art his profession, focusing primarily on painting of landscapes and outdoor figures. From 1856 until his death, he frequently exhibited his works at the Royal Academy of Arts, The Royal Society of British Artists, and the Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, among others. Among his notable works include "Boy in a Cornfield" (1866), "Girl Carrying a Pitcher" (1866), "Henley Regatta" (1879), "Harvest Time" (1882), and "Borough Marsh" (1885)." He died at the age of 64.
