When he was a little past his middle age, a fiddleback spider bit Buster's tail, requiring amputation of the very tip of his tail. He still had a little bit of white left on the tip, though.
Buster's joints started to deteriorate fairly early in his life, and his gait was more like stomping than walking. We finally had to let him go because by then he was in pain. Buster liked to be outside but preferred to be inside with the family when we were at home. He was a really loyal dog.
