Funeral services were conducted at the Waldron M. E. church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. R. O. Pearson and the Rev. C. B. Atkinson, of Waldron officiated. Burial was in the Ogden (VanPelt) cemetery in charge of C. F. Fix & Son, funeral directors.
Mrs. Durbin was born in the state of New York, July 30, 1844, the daughter of Thomas and Druzella Hoban. At the time of death she was eighty-one years, nine months and eleven days old. At the age of seven years, she moved with her parents to this county where she had since resided. She had been a resident of Waldron the past eight years. Her husband preceded her in death nine years ago.
Mrs. Hoban was a devoted member of the Waldron M. E. church and was one of Waldron's most highly esteemed residents. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Slager, of Waldron; two sons John N. Durbin, of Noble township, and Alkariah Durbin, of Hamilton county. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Theodore Hoban and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mason, of Noble township.
