Franklin attended the Rectory School in Pomfret, was a graduate of the Woodstock Academy in Woodstock and attended Rollins College in Florida. He served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II, being stationed in the Pacific Ocean with the 27th Infantry Division (The Flying Infantry). He was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a resident of Stamford for 37 years and retired as an investment manager.
Franklin, of 109 Tresser Blvd., Stamford, Connecticut, died in the St. Joseph Medical Center in Stamford, Connecticut on Thursday, July 7, 1988 at the age of 71.
He is survived by his former wife, two daughters and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 628 Main St. in Stamford. Burial was private on July 15th and there are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford, Connecticut.
