Civil War Union Soldier. Bricklayer. He was a corporal in Company A of the 51st Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was mustered in September 12, 1861, and promoted to sergeant in Company A on December 3, 1861. He was mustered out with his regiment on July 27, 1865. He was the husband of Elizabeth and the father of Annie and Grant. In civilian life he worked as a brick layer in Norristown.
