He was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Madawaska, Maine, to the late Lucie (Legasse) and Fred Lavoie. He worked as a laborer at Pratt & Whitney for 35 wonderful years. As a hobby he enjoyed working on various types of equipment, especially small engine repair.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie Lavoie; his sons Paul Lavoie and Patrick Lavoie and his wife, Diane; and his three grandchildren, Megan, Devin and Brittany.
Friends and relatives may join the family Friday, March 24, 2017, between 5 and 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. funeral home service at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry.
