Barbara was born October 19, 1934, to Robert H. and Lakey M. Marion.
She was a lifelong resident of Charleston. Before her retirement, Barbara worked for many years as a pharmacy technician for K-Mart and Fruth Pharmacy. After retirement, Barbara enjoyed the simple things in life. She made beautiful cross-stitched pieces that she often gave to others and she loved planting and nurturing flowers. Her greatest love however, was for her family and friends. Her door was always open with a place ready at the dinner table.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Claude) King; and siblings, Paul Marion, Robert (Bob) Marion, Dixie Tucker, Faye Hudson, Virginia (Ginny) Milam, Willa Smith, Emma Jean Meadows, and Annabelle (Annie) Copen.
She is survived by sons, James R. (Randy) King and his wife, LaRae of St. Albans, Terry W. King and Michael A. King, both of Charleston; daughter, Karen R. Hammonds and her husband, David of Elkview; grandson, Jared R. King, his wife, Rebecca and their daughter, Barbara's most cherished great-granddaughter, Audrey Rose King of Milton.
