James A. Mallon, 68, 207 Imperial Blvd., died Tuesday in a Reno hospital. A native of Ogden, Kan., he had worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1959. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Mr. Mallon has resided in Reno for the past 10 years, having moved here from Oakland, Calif.
Surviving are: his wife, Muriel, of Reno; brothers Cecil, of Salina, Kan., and John, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Hilda Rowe, of Manhattan, Kan.; a number of nieces and nephews.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral, the Rev. Charles J. Rhigini officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
