J.F. “Jack” Mallon, 79, of 6914 Happy Jack Road, died at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Hospital Saturday. He was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Ogden, Kan., and had been employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer for 40 years. He married Margaret Borst Dec. 23, 1949, in Kimball, Neb. She died Nov. 21, 1989. He is survived by three children, Edna Margaret Pontillo of Northglenn, Colo., and James Joseph Mallon and John William Mallon, both of Cheyenne; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. Services are pending at Schrader Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Cathedral, 100 W. 21st St., Cheyenne.
