John McCoy Dead
On Friday John McCoy, who lives on the Elbow, died of apoplexy at the age of 81 years, 1 month, 14 days. Burial took place at the Elbow Catholic church Monday. The deceased was born in Ireland. After a residence of several years in Scotland he came to Kansas in 1859. He had five children: four daughters and one son. Misses Sarah and Helen and Joseph are all at home: Mrs. Anna Mallon lives at Ogden and another married daughter, Lizzie, lives in Oregon.

On Christmas Day, John Conroy (McCoy) of Blue Township strangled to death upon an orange seed. He was just finishing a Christmas dinner and was eating an orange when in some way a seed fell into his windpipe. He commenced to strangle violently and though the family tried to relive (sic) him he died in a few minutes.
