Last Friday afternoon the remains of Mrs. Joseph (John) McCoy were brought home from Kansas City and the funeral service conducted Saturday at the Catholic Church on the Elbo, by Rev. Robert Loehr. Mrs. McCoy has been suffering for many months with cancer of the stomach and was taken to the hospital in Kansas City. The doctors decided that they could do nothing for her and she was then too sick to be brought home. Mrs. McCoy was among the first settlers in Pottawatomie County and has a large circle of friends who will mourn her death. She leaves a husband, four daughters and a son, who have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
