Liberty Township Justice of the Peace

Everett E. "Duke" GRAY served as Justice of the Peace for Liberty Township in Fulton County, Indiana, from 1921 to 1923 and from 1952 until his death.

He was son of William S. GRAY and Sarah GRIFFITH. Born in Ripley County, Indiana, he moved with his family to Benton County, Indiana, before 1900. In Benton County, on February 21, 1904, he married Nellie P. HINKLE. Their son Paul E. was born in 1905.

Everett moved his family to Fulton County before 1920, and he worked as a real estate agent. The marriage ended in divorce, and Everett moved on to Seattle, Washington. He returned to Fulton County in 1944.

On March 11, 1955, in Fulton, he married Mary MORECRAFT, who survived his death. [Mary's maiden name was HANAWALT; she was the widow of Fred B. MORECRAFT when she and Everett married.]

Mr. Gray was a member of the Fulton E.U.B. church.

Funeral services were at the Fulton E.U.B. church, and cremation arrangements were by the Ditmire funeral home in Fulton.
