Ancil C. Gray
Ancil Clark GRAY, 86, died at 4:30 a.m. today at his home, 706 Fulton avenue, after a year's illness. He had been seriously sick since Sept. 1, 1956.
Born Sept. 30, 1870, in Osgood, he was the son of William S. and Sarah Jane GRIFFITH GRAY. A retired farmer he had lived in the city the past eight years. Prior to that he had resided near Fulton for over 40 years. Before coming to Fulton county, Mr. Gray lived in Benson county, Ind.
He was married Dec. 18, 1901 in Fowler, to Lola WALKER. Mr. Gray was a member of the former St. Paul E.U.B. church here.
Surviving are the wife, at home; one son, Howard B. GRAY, Vicksburg, Miss; one daughter, Mrs. Fern SCOTT, Detroit; two grandchildren; three brothers, Everett and William [GRAY], both of Fulton; and George [GRAY], Union City; four sisters, Miss Mary GRAY, now a patient at Woodlawn hospital here; Mrs. Nettie DOLBEE and Mrs. Lizzie GRAY, both of Union City. Mrs. Edith DOLBEE, Battle Creek, Mich., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Mrs. Henry RENTSCHLER, and Mrs. Henry NORDLOH, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. DST Thursday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home, with the Rev. Melvin LIVENGOOD of Bremen officiating, assisted by the Rev. George CRANE of Rochester. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
