Clarence McKinley Napier, age 84, of Powell, TN, passed away on April 18, 2017. Clarence was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, friendly demeanor, and dedication to family. Clarence graduated from Lexington High School, Lexington, IN and worked at Morgan's Packing Company, Austin, IN before entering the U.S. Army where he served 2 years as a Military Policeman stationed at Fort Knox, KY, Augusta, GA, Denver, CO, and Mannheim, Germany. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Clarence worked at the American Can Company, Austin, IN, for 37 years before retiring. Clarence and his wife, Veridies, moved to Knoxville, TN in 1990, where Clarence took a part time job as a Security Guard at West Town Mall for 7 years and actively engaged with the community as a connoisseur of yard sales and flea markets. Clarence attended the Parkwest Church of God in Knoxville, TN where he was baptized and actively attended for 27 years.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Farmer Napier and Lillie (Couch) Napier; brothers, Everit, Murphy, David, George, Fred; and sisters, Felda, Verda, Versie, Renetta, all deceased. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 63 years, Laura "Veridies" Napier; children, Larry, Jimmy (deceased), Lynda (deceased), Jerry (wife, Sudha); grandchildren, Justin Napier (wife, Kris), Eric Napier, and Lauren Zollman; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Napier and Jackson Napier.

The family will receive friends at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 4 to 5pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5pm, with Pastor McGinnis officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ben Atchley, Tennessee State Veterans Home, One Veterans Way, Knoxville, TN 37931, and adding the words "For Activities" in the check memo field.
