The brothers had purchased farm property just outside St. Mary's Indian Residential school boundaries, from present 3rd Ave up to 7th Ave. Every year during the 1940's, he worked at the hop fields at Agassiz.
He was married three times: Theresa Wells (1899 to 1933); Agatha James (d. 1947); Lulu (circa 1871)) and had 5 children; he was widowed at time of his death.
He died of pneumonia, age 78 years, and was buried Jan 14, 1952 in row 19, between his cousins, the Jack sisters. In 2023, there is no longer any sign of a headstone.
