Alford Funeral To Be Held Today
Funeral services for Clarence E. Alford, 48, who died Friday morning after a short illness at his home, 2106 Seventh Avenue, Phenix City [Russell Co., AL], will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the residence, with Rev. W.H. Cook, pastor of Phenix City Central Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion plat in Riverdale cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Harvey, Clarence, William, Harry, Hugh and Edwin.
Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nellie; a son, Lieut. Douglas; seven step-daughters, Mrs. Mildred, Mrs. Clara, Miss Jimmie, Mrs. Bary, Miss Virginia, Miss Barbara and Mrs. Ethel; three brothers, G.S., Dallas and Willie; three sisters, Mrs. Susie; and four grandchildren.
