HMS Nerbudda was a 12-gun brig-sloop that was launched in 1847. In 1855 she sailed from Liverpool for Bombay captained by Commander Henry Ashburton Kerr. She left Algoa Bay (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, South Africa on 9th June 1855 with a full complement of officers, men and crew. She was caught in a storm after leaving Algoa Bay and disappeared at sea with 132 lives lost. No trace of her has ever been found.
