Havre--Michael Cooney, 65, who had been in ill health since his retirement from the Great Northern Railway in 1941, died at his home. Services will be held at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home at 2 Friday afternoon.
Cooney, who was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, came to Montana in 1908 from Casselton, ND, and was employed by the Great Northern until his retirement, at which time he was a brakeman.
Survivors are Mrs Cooney, née Rose Tyssen, to whom he was married Jan 21, 1909, at Havre; a son, Walter Cooney of Havre; a sister, Mrs Mary Jane Artz, Mandan, ND; a brother, Charles Cooney, Great Falls; and two grandchildren.
