Dorothy L. Kirby, 94, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2017, at Meadows Manor North Retirement and Convalescent Center, Terre Haute. She was employed by Quaker Maid for approximately 40 years and later worked at Pitman-Moore.
Mrs. Kirby was born Jan. 3, 1923 in rural Clark County, the daughter of the late Theodore and Flossie May Joy Somers. She married Leo W. Kirby June 15, 1939 and he preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1984.
Surviving are a brother, Norman (Mary) Somers and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Albert, John and Mitchell and three sisters, Erma Alcorn, Irene Calloway and Berniece Baggs.
