Born in South Carolina, he was a son of the late Henry and Betsey Brown Henderson. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Connie Maxwell Children's Home after 48 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Hughes of Greenwood and Mrs. Doris Wilson of Promise Land Community; a son, R.L. Stevens of Greenwood ; a sister, Mrs. Adell H. Belcher of Greenwood; a brother, Henry Henderson of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Plans will be announced by Robinson and Son Mortuary.
