Mr. Abell was an auto mechanic for Kentuckiana Food Service and a member of Local 89.
Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, Jesse and Bessie Milby Abell; wife, Gladys Marie Abell; sons, Robbie, Calbert, and Timothy Abell; and great-granddaughter, Makayla Shyann Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Susie Bennett (Rick), Gloria Davidson (Paul), Dorothy Davis, Gayle Guess, Rosie Thomas (Troy), and Leroy Abell (Becky); 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, May 5, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 12-8 pm at the funeral home.
