Golda Buie was born on May 25, 1938 in Jonesville, La and passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena. She was a resident of Jonesville, and a member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Buie worked as an office manager for Sandy Lake Water Services for a number of years and also at Piggly Wiggly in Ferriday and Jonesville. She was an accomplished pianist and served as the piano player for Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church for nearly 30 years. She loved playing and singing music with her talented musical family. She was well known with Southern Gospel singing groups and quartets. Golda was also known for being the “Lady with the Million Dollar Smile”.
She was preceded in death by her father, Asa Ewing; mother, Ida Robertson Ewing; six sisters, Mildred Masters, Marie Carrico, Betty Jean Hale, Ethel Patten, Georgia "Tee Wee" Wascom, and Yvonne Masters; three brothers, A.C. Ewing, Jr., Rev. Tom Ed Ewing and Bobby Ray Ewing.
Survivors include her loving husband, Rev. A.W. “Bill” Buie, Jr., of Sandy Lake, LA; one son, Michael David Buie and his wife Michelle, of Nappanee, Indiana; and six grandchildren.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church from 12:00 NOON until service time on Tuesday.
