An organization called the Primitive Baptists help worship services, for a time, at the Rombauer Union Church. They were lovingly known as the Harshell Baptist. They did no attend Sunday school service, but many of their children did. There was no music at their worship services, and song books were more like books of poems. But when they sang those old songs, they made the "rafters ring." (Lillian Owens) remembered some of their pastors, Uncle Will Ham, Uncle Ed Ham, Kirby Ham and Louis Ham.

William Jackson Hamm residing in Rombauer, Butler Co., MO b. Sept 26, 1850 in Pike Co., IL to the parents of John Ham & Sallie Cobb (birth states unknown by informant). He was widowed at the time of his death. At the age of 90 yrs 5 months & 22 days when he died March 10th, 1941 of pnuemonia exerbated by his extreme age. (his usual occupation is illegible) The informant of his personal information was Elijah Hamm, Rombauer, MO. Interment was only listed as Rombauer, MO under the direction of Watkins Funeral, Dexter, MO on March 11, 1941.

Note: keep in mind the deceased 'personal' information is only as accurate as the informant's knowlege AND/OR the 'understanding' of the person filling out the certificate. I suspect Elijah knew his granmothers' maiden name was Todd ... the person filling out the certificate might have misunderstood him to say 'Cobb' ... or maybe Elijah didn't have clear recollection but was close.
