Previously interred at John Curtis Cemetery #276 located at the bottom of Snow's Hill in what is now the Right of Way of U.S. Hwy 70.

The State of Tennessee paid for and authorized Walker Funeral Home of Smithville, TN. to relocate and reinterr the cemetery to Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, TN. in July of 2000.

Curtis Cemetery was found in 1964 when Nola Davis Lentz told Historian Thomas G. Webb that her grandmother, Mary Bell McFarland and John Curtis were buried there.

The cemetery was located at the foot of Snow's Hill, where Robert T. O'Conner had a service station. On the hill east of the station was a dirt trail; following it taking the right fork, go about .3 miles. The cemetery was in cedar trees and limestone rocks beside and overlooking Hwy 70. There were 8 limestone markers and possibly 20 graves.
