William was born in Lidney, Gloucester, England in 1818. His father came to America in 19831 accompanied by his wife and children excepting one daughter who remained in England. The family located for a short time in Onondaga County, New York from their removing to Richland, NY. In 1839 Mr Box was united in marriage to Miss Celia Knollin of Sandy creek who survives him. Three children were born of this union two of whom died quite young James K Box (1843-1845) and Frances A Box (1845-1849). Surviving is a son Richard William Box. Mr Box made Pulaski his home and here in successful business activities for many years. Some nine years his health has failed. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Pulaski. Funeral services were from his late residence. Rev W. L. Tisdale and other clergymen assisted in the occasion.
