“Miss BELCHER Dies At Phenix City Home // Miss Ella BELCHER, who lived at 1716 Lamar street, Phenix City, died at her residence Sunday night at 11:30 p. m., after an illness of four months. She had resided there for about 35 years. // She is survived by a brother, G. W. BELCHER, with whom she lived. // Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the residence at 2 o’clock. Rev. R. K. JONES will officiate, and interment will be in Godwin cemetery. // The following nephews will serve as pallbearers: Otis PITTS, Charley PITTS, John PITTS and Jim PITTS.” [Columbus (GA) Enquirer newspaper, Tuesday, 24 OCT 1944, p. 10.]
