Marie was the daughter of Oscar and Amelia Provost Bourgeois. Her twenty four year marriage to Raymond Benoit ended in divorce but she remained a dedicated and loving mother to their four children.
At different points in her life, Marie worked for both the New York State Department of Labor and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. After retirement, Marie volunteered her time at the Waterford Harbor Visitor's Center.
