Oscar F. Bourgeois, 77, of 48 Congress St., Cohoes, former Democratic alderman, died Wednesday at Cohoes Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Canada, he resided in Cohoes the greater part of his life. He was a communicant of
St. Joseph’s Church, Cohoes. He also served as an undersheriff for Albany County for man years.
Besides his wife, the former Amelia Provost, he is survived by his one son, Francis J. Bourgeois of Cohoes; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Benoit of Waterford and Mrs. Charles Schindler of Castleton; two sisters, the Misses Ida and Lumina Bourgeois, both of Cohoes; one brother,
Eugene Bourgeois of Schenectady; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m.. from the Ernest L. Dufresne Funeal Home, 282 Remsen St., Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church, Cohoes, where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
