Philippe Bourgeois, 85, of 56 Congress street, father of Deputy Sheriff Oscar Bourgeois, died last night at the Cohoes hospital of a broken hip suffered a week ago in a fall at his home. Mr. Bourgeois was born in L’Acadie, P. Q., Canada, and had been a resident of this city for the past 42 years. He retired from active work about 20 years ago. The deceased was a member of
St. Joseph’s Church, this city.
Besides his wife, the former Malvina Hebert, he is survived by four daughters, the Misses Anna, Ida, Lumena, of Cohoes, and Sister Philippe d’Alexandrie of the Holy Name Academy, Albany; six sons, Louis of Montreal, Eugene of Schenectadyk Victor , Emile, Alcide and Oscar Bourgeois of this city and two brothers, Ephraim Bourgeois and Louis Bourgeois of St. Johns,
P.Q., Canada.
Funeral from the residence, 56 Congress street, Thursday morning at 8:45 o'clock, thence to St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated. Friends may call at the home Wednesday from 5 to 10 o'clock. Funeral private. Kindly omit flowers. Interment in St. Joseph's cemetery, Waterford, N. Y.
