Emile M. Bourgeois, 77, of 122 Congress St., Cohoes, died today in Cohoes Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
A native of the Province of Quebec, Can., Mr. Bourgeois had resided in Cohoes the greater part of his life and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and a member of the Union of Prayer and the Men’s Club of the parish. He formerly was employed by the Ford Motor Co. as a machinist, retiring 16 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, the former Emeline I. Belanger; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence B. Clement, and three grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas, and Anne Marie Clement, all of Cohoes; four sisters, Sister Philippe d’alexandria, stationed in Montreal, and the Misses Anna, Ida, and Lumina Bourgeois, all of Cohoes; three brothers, Eugene Bourgeois of Schenectady; Alcide Bourgeois of Troy and Oscar Bourgeois of Cohoes and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Ernest L. Dufresne Funeral Home, 282 Remsen St., and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church, where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
