Victor H. Bourgeois, 82, of 61 Rensselaer Ave., Cohoes, died today following a lengthy illness.
A native of Canada, Mr. Bourgeois had resided in Cohoes for the greater part of his life and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, that city, and a member of the Union of Prayer of the parish. He was a retired carpenter, having formerly been employed by area contractors, and was a member of the Troy Local of the Carpenters Union.
Mr. Bourgeois, who was the husband of the late Lillie Boudreau Bourgeois, is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James H. Costello of Cohoes; a son, Joseph V. Bourgeois of that city; five grandchildren; four sisters, the Misses Anna, Ida and Lumina Bourgeois, all of Cohoes, and Sister Philippe d’alexandria, S.J.M., who is stationed in Montreal; four brothers, Emile, Alcide and Oscar Bourgeois, all of Cohoes, and Eugene Bourgeois of Schenectady and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from A. G. Boivin’s Sons Funeral Home, 70 Congress St., Cohoes, and at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
