James Lee Marr, Sr., was born June 28, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Flora Ethel (Hogg) Marr. At age 73, he went home to be with the Lord, October 19, 2001 at OSU Medical Center.

James was a graduate of Columbus East High School and studied music at Capital University Conservatory of Music. Member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, member of the Male Chorus, Minister of Music and Director of The Chancel Choir.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Flora Marr and aunt, Connie Kelley.

Survived by devoted wife and best friend, E. Esther Marr; son, James Lee (Linda) Marr, Jr.; grandchildren, James Lee III, Christopher; brothers, Henry "Hank" Marr, John W. (Lucille) Marr; sister, Rev. Ethel Dunson; sister-in-law, Josephine Devlin; Arlen (Rosetta) Allen, Drs. Lonnie (Donna) Norris; Godson, Michael Norris; Dr. Marlena Norris, Kathy J. Spies, Carolyn Tucker, Midge Walker, Steven Marr , Sunny Adams, Jannie Devlin Clark, Julia and Claude Wilson, Tina Marr McDonald, Joyce Ann Rogers, The Macedonia Baptist Church family; the following families: Hank Marr, Rev.
