A. James Baudendistel
of Gulf Summit, N.Y.-A. James Baudendistel, 80, of Gulf Summit, Town of Sanford, N.Y., fell asleep peacefully August 2, 2004 at Barnes-Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, Pa. He is survived by the family he loved so much: his wife of 55 years, Rita Baudendistel; his children and their spouses, James Baudendistel, John and Carolyn Baudendistel, Mary and Paul Spencer, all of Gulf Summit, Catherine and Samuel Falank, and Ann Stanton, all of Windsor, N.Y., Michael and Linda Baudendistel, and Thomas and Nancy Baudendistel, all also of Gulf Summit; a sister and her husband, Jessie and Thomas Hanrahan, Deposit; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Gilbert; and by his grandson, Paul Spencer Jr. He was a WWII US Army veteran who served with the 3rd Division and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Battle Star. He retired from IBM in 1989. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Deposit, the Penny Blue Grass Assoc., the Checker Cab Club and Memorial Post of the V.F.W. in Deposit.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, 2004, at 10:45 a.m. from the Zacharias Funeral Home in Deposit, and at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in Deposit where a Funeral Mass will be offered by Rev. John Booth. Burial will be in the McClure Cemetery at McClure, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends wishing may make memorial donations to the Deposit Emergency Squad.
