Nathan Laverne Holmes, 86, of Fort Pierce, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at his residence. He was a life-long resident of Fort Pierce. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge and the Order of Odd Fellows. He had served as a coach with the Fort Pierce Little League. He was a retired cattleman.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Laura "Lucille" Holmes of Fort Pierce; sons, Nathan S. Holmes, David A. Holmes and Stevan L. Holmes all of Fort Pierce; daughter, Verda Walker of Fort Pierce; sister, Margaret Carlton of Fort Pierce; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 18, 2007 between the hours of 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
