Maria has left us to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tino Barbosa of 66 years. Maria was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico in 1925 to Mr. & Mrs. Acension Nino. She married her beloved husband, Tino, on February 14, 1942.
Together they raised four children; 2 daughters and 2 sons: Connie & Albert McCormack of Arroyo Grande; Tino & Lupita Barbosa Jr. of Santa Maria; Mike & Janie Barbosa of Templeton and Sylvia & Art McCormack of Guadalupe. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and those she considered as family.
Maria was a proud homemaker in Brownsville, Texas before relocating with her family to Nipomo, California where she enjoyed spending her days with her kids and later her grandchildren and great-children.
She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched, especially with her cooking and baking in her hometown.
The rosary/viewing will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Nipomo. A burial to follow at Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
