Robert Bynum, age 87, and Mary Anna Bynum (nee Ode), age 86, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017, as they walked into Heaven’s Gate hand in hand. Devoted parents of Mary (Patrick) Kane, Robert Michael Bynum, Melinda Sue (Frank) Jordan, Sharyl Allyn Bynum, and Jacob Jay (Stacy) Bynum; loving grandparents of fourteen; treasured great-grandparents of fourteen; and dear great-great-grandparents of one.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Chester H. and Mary Louise Bynum; one grandchild, Diane Marie Kane; and his siblings, Lucille, J.C., Mary Frances, Howard, and Romajein.

Mary is also survived by her siblings, George (Evelyn) Ode, Eleanor (Jerry) Owens, Robert Ode, and Ruth Hankins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Russell and Ethel Bailey Ode and one grandchild, Diane Marie Kane.

Robert and Mary were united in marriage on May 28, 1949, and recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. They lived an exciting life being outdoors with family, sailing, canoeing, and camping. They spent their retirement years living at their home in Gulf Breeze, Florida and traveling with family. Robert and Mary will be remembered for their unconditional love for their family. They were deeply loved, and will be dearly missed by all whose lives they touched.
