The second wife of John Simmons, not much is known about her other than her first name. Likely of Scots-Irish heritage born before 1760 in or near Anson County, North Carolina, where her future husband lived for some time, and where they were likely married, probably before her husband’s revolutionary war service in 1777-1778. The couple then settled on Georgia, where John acquired two tracts of land as a result of his service, one in Wilkes County (now part of Lincoln County) and one in Washington County (now part of Hancock County).

Together John and Rebecca had eight children who survived: David, Thomas, Elisha, Ruth, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Keziah, and Susannah. Rebecca died before her husband, and probably before September of 1794, when John deeded his property to their children. John and Rebecca resided in Lincoln County when they died, but the family cemetery is located on their land in Hancock County. There is no known gravestone for either Rebecca or John.
