Lorene Hope, 87, year old Checotah resident passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her home in Checotah, OK surrounded by her family. She was born on Sunday, March 30, 1930 to Frank and Florence (Acker) Fairchild in Eufaula. OK. Lorene grew up in Eufaula where she attended Eufaula Public Schools until the 8th grade. She helped her parents on the farm and later married Aubrey Farar, moving to Texas, becoming a homemaker and mother. After her divorce, she moved back and married Jessie Leon Hope, living in Sand Springs for a while then moved to Checotah in 1978. She loved to sew and cook, but especially loved to play and spoil her grandchildren. Lorene spent many years teaching Sunday School and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed flying, traveling to California, loved the ocean, getting her hair done and shopping. She was known for making “Suet Pudding,” a holiday recipe, and she also made a vinegar gravy to go with it. Lorene was a true lover of her family and the best “Nannie” ever. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Aubrey Lawrence Farar and Jessie Leon Hope; her sons, Lawrence Farar, Robert Leon Hope and Ronald Louis Hope. She is lovingly survived by her children, Barbara Ball and her husband Martin, Timothy Bruce Hope all of Checotah, Patricia Perkins and her husband Terry of Stigler; her grandchildren, Amanda Melton and her husband of Webbers Falls, Adrian Lee Hope, Sean Michael Hope both of Checotah, Emmitt Roberts of Tulsa, Edgar Roberts and his wife Kristie of Decatur, TX, Ronald Hope Jr., Bryan Hope, Dallas Samuel Hope all of Broken Arrow, Ashley Dobbs and her husband Jonathon of Tulsa, Kaylee Star Hope, Kyle Hope both of Broken Arrow and Larry Farar of Stigler. Lorene is also survived by her brother, Edgar Fairchild and his wife Beverly; her sister-in-law, Martha Fairchild all of Sand Springs as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
