Margaret Bennett Gordon was born on June 8, 1924, and quietly passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. She was a resident of Satsuma and co-owner of Gordon and Sandifer Auto Service, Baton Rouge. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, Feb. 8, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home chapel Wednesday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Gilbert Reese, Darin Jensen, Tim Norris and Gaylen Van Loon. Burial in Sibley Cemetery, Satsuma. Survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Luther Gordon, of Satsuma; daughter, Gloria Lynn LaPrarie and husband Winston, of Effie; daughter, Brenda Gordon Aime and husband Ken, of Satsuma; son, Luther Mark Gordon and wife Laura, of Walker; grandchildren, Nathan LaPrarie and wife Tonya, Sarah LaPrarie Goodwin and husband Devin, John Wiley and wife Danielle, Jerome Wiley and wife Laura, Dedra Wiley, Jesse Wiley, Lauren Gordon Joles, Landon Gordon and Logan Gordon; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Lee and Frankle Ransow, both of Albany, Shirley Bourgeois, of Hammond, and Nina Gresham, of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Cora Lou Harper Bennett; father, Farley Bennett; two brothers, Wade and Ed Bennett; and sister, Alice Ballard. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nathan LaPrarie, John Wiley, Jerome Wiley, Jesse Wiley, Landon Gordon and Logan Gordon. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons, Zachary Wiley, Matthew Wiley, Lane LaPrarie and Dylan Joles.
