George was the son of Benjamin FELTHOFF (1824-1907) and Charlotte BENNETT (1837-1914). On August 14, 1888, George married Mary R. PEARSON in Flora, Carroll Co., Indiana. Three children were born to the marriage: Benjamin L. (1890-1964), Almira J. (1891-1971, m. REEF), and George Samuel (1904-1969). George's wife Mary died December 25, 1925. George secondly married Elizabeth "Lizzie" McCABE, the daughter of Washington McCABE and Anna GUSHWA. (Elizabeth was the widow of Franklin D. REICHARD; she birthed no children.) In 1930, George and his wife Elizabeth were living in Ockley, Madison Twp., Carroll Co., Indiana; he was working as a section hand for the railroad. George's wife Elizabeth survived him by a year.

In 1870 and 1880, he was with his parents and six siblings in Democrat Twp., Carroll Co., IN. In 1900, he was in Jefferson Twp., Carroll CO., IN, with his wife (Mary), their two children, and his father (Benjamin). In 1910, he was in Madison Twp., Carroll Co., IN, with his wife (Mary), their three children, and an 8-year-old orphan girl named Ruth COLLINS. In 1920, he was in Madison Twp., Carroll Co., IN, with his wife (Mary) and their son George. In 1930, he was in Madison Twp., Carroll Co., IN, with his second wife (Elizabeth).

Newspaper obituary:

George W. Felthoff, 72, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wesley Reef, at Radnor last night after a seven-month illness. Mr. Felthoff had lived all his life in Ockley. He moved to his daughter's home last June after suffering a broken hip in a fall.

Besides the daughter, survivors are two sons, George L. and Benjamin both of Ockley, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at the Ockley Church Saturday at 10 a.m., burial at Pyrmont.
